Five Ways To Start 2023 Spooky!

1/6/2023

Happy Boo Year!

2023 is here at last and if you're trying to shake off that December feeling and get back into the spooky festive spirit, this list should help!

Here's five easy ways to add a spooky touch to your January month and and get ready for this years spooky season and to hopefully make you feel a little like Halloween is already here (although it's Halloween everyday for some of us right?).

Picture
Make A List

January is all about a fresh start, whether that be with a new job, going to the gym, making resolutions or just making a few lists, now is the perfect time to start planning for Halloween.

Halloween might be months away but you can never have enough time to plan, so why not make a list of potential theme ideas for your next Halloween party? Costume ideas, foods to experiment with, stores to visit, craft projects to complete all make great lists to plan for this year. I tend to take a small step back in January to see what worked in the last year and what didn't, ideas that came to fruition and things that I have been putting off that I can attempt this year.

You could also start a 2023 scrap book for spooky season, so when October finally rolls around you are fully prepared for the spookiest month of the year.

Picture
Organise

If like me, you end up with lots of new spooky things throughout spooky season and even as gifts for Christmas, January is the perfect time to organise everything. I usually find that something I loved in previous years, might now not be as loved as it was, so it's time to give it a new home.

Sorting through all of your spooky things and deciding what to part with and what to keep is a really great way of clearing out unnecessary clutter and can also be great for your mental health. You're probably wondering how this is spooky? Well what you decide to part with, you can sell or even trade for other spooky things. Any money you make can then be put aside for this years spooky purchases and so you're starting the year with a Halloween 2023 fund already.

Picture
Read, Watch, Listen!

Every year we're always treated to new spooky films, music and books. As January is usually a quieter month for pretty much everything, now is the best time to catch up on books you might have not read or even purchased yet.

I always enjoy watching Halloween films in January to shake off December and get back into the spooky spirit. Personal favourites from last year were Hocus Pocus 2 and Halloween Ends and I still have Netflix's The Curse of Bridge Hollow on my list of films to watch (a few suggestions for you there).

There is so much Halloween themed music to listen to too, this can be anything from actual Halloween songs like those released by DBones and the Remains, Kim Petras and LVCRFT or soundtracks from your favourite Halloween films. If those don't take your fancy, there's always the year long Halloween Radio.

Picture
Shopping

Two words... January Sales! You would think that with it now being a new year and January that Halloween would be long gone from the stores, well you'll be surprised to know that you can find so many Halloween goodies in the January sales.

Many stores will remove stock from shelves after October and will put it back out in January to try and sell in the sales. You'll be able to find all kinds of spooky things and maybe even things you might have had your eye on but missed and it's now even cheaper. You might need to hunt through sale sections to find odd spooky treats, but a day out hunting is sure to guarantee you at least one thing.

Picture
Craft Challenge

Halloween is ten months away, which gives you plenty of time to start all of those projects you've been wanting to start (or finish). One way to spread out the spooky fun is setting yourself a craft project challenge every month.

If you can complete one project every month until October, you'll be able to start the month with a handful of spooky makes. You can then decorate your home with your creations and relax a little in October as you're already well prepared. Projects can be anything from creating a new recipe, making decorations, candles and more. You can also find free activity packs in the freebie section above which includes heaps of easy DIY projects for Halloween and other holidays too.

Picture
April is very nearly over, which also means we're about to hit the 6 month mark to Halloween. YAY!

The past month has definitely been a spooky month and i've come across so many amazing spooky products that I knew needed to be shared in this month blog post.

Every product in this months post are all from small business, with a handful also specialising in Halloween products too, so be sure to not only check out the feature products but everything else available also.

Halfway to Halloween Range From Hollow Hill Apparel

Picture
I'm kicking off this months list with not just one product but an a whole range of new products!

Hollow Hill Apparel is a small business that sells heaps of spooky apparel and this weekend (April 30th) they're launching a brand new Halfway to Halloween collection.

They've been teasing this new release for a while now and I personally cannot wait to see all of the new treats available. One of the product they have been teasing is this 'Lumber Jacks' shirt. The front has an embroidered Jack O'Lantern design with an awesome print on the back too (you'll have to check out their website and instagram for more pics ;).

You can check out all of the current products available right here and also follow on instagram here too!

Serving Plates

Picture
These plates are absolutely brilliant! The plates feature one of five different designs, including this 'Please Don't Summon Demons In The House" design and are also available in two different sizes.

All I can picture is an entire set of these being used for a fancy dinner party... they'd be a great talking point!

Grab this design and check out the others available right here.

Pumpkin Mat

Picture
This find was a very nice surprise, mainly for the fact it's from a UK seller!

This Pumpkin Mat is perfect for your bathroom, bedroom, hallway, crypt, torture chamber.... the possibilities are endless and it's also made from 100% cotton too!

There's also a matching Black Cat design available if too if Pumpkins are not really your thing.

You can check out both mats right here.

Iridescent Glass Bat

Picture
Can you believe we're nearly halfway through spring already? Although i'm happy to see Spring and Summer go by quickly, I can't deny that I do enjoy the longer days sometimes and with them brings more sunshine.

This one i'm a little obsessed with as it is a true thing of beauty!

Picture
Returning to spring once again and this time we're talking pots, specifically pumpkin pots!

Halloween Stacking Boxes

Picture
I have to admit, i'm a sucker for Halloween storage boxes, jars, pots, basically anything that is spooky themed and can be used for storage and these stacking boxes are incredible.

They're available in different designs and style and each one is hand-painted too. Personally I love the Boo, Pumpkin and Trick or Treat set, but then again i'd happily take every design.

You can pick up your own set right here and be sure to check out all designs too!

Halloween Decor Hunter Pin

Picture
How cool is this pin? I actually came across this pin thank to someone I follow on Instagram but I fell in love with it right away.

The pin features an adorable autumnal design with a happy Jack O'Lantern in the centre. If like me, you absolutely love the buzz of Halloween shopping, then this pin is definitely for you as let's be honest here, one of the best things about Spooky Season is the decor!

Pick up your own pin right here and be sure to wear to let people know you're a proud Halloween Decor Hunter!

One thing that I can definitely say soooo many people absolutely love when it comes to spooky merch, is spooky cats. Black Cats, Witchy Cats, Zombie Cat and especially Ghost Cats, us ghouls absolutely love a spooky feline!

DIY: Turning An Old Bird Cage Into A Haunted House

3/20/2021

Picture
Today i'm sharing a little DIY project I recently worked on to turn an old bird cage into a Halloween feature!

This project is quite specific but I hope that by sharing how I put this together, it might give some of you a few tips on how to make something similar or even the same if you come across a similar bird cage.

I recently came across this bird cage while searching for Halloween mugs on ebay. It was odd that it appeared in the results and at first I checked it out and didn't really think much of it, until that's all I did was think about it. I started to dream up all the things I could potentially do with it and so I ended up getting in touch with the seller to see if they would be happy to ship (the auction was originally collection only), fortunately for me he was and so around a week later the bird cage had arrived.

It wasn't in the best condition but also not the worst at all. One part of the roof wasn't secure anymore and the paint work was chipped, stained and incredibly dusty. The cage was filled with webs and so the moment it arrived I removed the areas that could be taken away from the cage and got cleaning.

At first I used a vacuum to remove all of the webs and dirt. I then used a sponge with some warm soapy water to clean the cage all over. With cotton ear buds I was able to clean in between all of the small areas to remove as much dirt as possible. Next I moved on to painting. For the entire thing I used a basic wood and metal paint which I grabbed from Amazon. I painted the entire outside first and then moved to the inside. It was extremely tricky as the base does not come away so I had to reach as much as I could into the house through the small door in the front and paint the inside of the roof. It took a while to finish all of the inside due to so many awkward angles but it wasn't impossible.

The next part was to paint the areas of the roof that could be removed. This includes the area that had come away (left) and the top roof. Once these had dried I used wood glue to reattach the roof and it was almost complete.

In the days up to it's arrival I decided to 3D print 6 different sized ghosts. Using a pin I made a small hole into the top of each one and threaded a piece of string through each ghost. With the string attached I then took apart battery tealight candles by removing the base and glued the base (with everything still attached) inside each new resident. As I was able to remove the base of each candle with everything still attached, I am still able to turn them on and off and also replace the battery if needed.

These were then attached to the inside of the roof and either tied onto the wooden beams inside or I used a small piece of strong sticky tape to attach each one. The smallest ghost which can just be seen at the very top of the house does not light up but the attached lights in the roof make him glow anyway.

Lastly I found a set of copper wire orange lights also on Amazon. What's great about copper wire LED lights is that you can easily bend and shape them. So without using any kind of glue or sticky tape, I was able to bend the lights around the beams in the roof and spread them out to ensure as much of the lights lit the roof up as possible.
Once everything was attached it was finished! I simply turned on all of the lights, turned off the lights in the room and here we are. A spooky, upcycled Haunted House bird cage.  This has definitely been one of my favourite things to make and also one of my greatest second hand finds too.

I know that this is such a specific make but for those that would like to make something similar, you can easily substitute the 3D printed ghosts and make them from paper or even air-drying and fimo clay. Maybe use an old toy dolls house and paint it all black with the ghosts hanging in the windows or use just a standard bird cage with ghosts inside. The copper wire lights I purchased from here and the paint is here.

14 Easy Makes To Turn Valentines Day Into Valoween!

2/6/2021

Picture
Valentine's Day is almost upon us and for those of you who are longing for the spooky season to return, this list might just help bring it that little bit closer.

I've picked out 13 easy makes to add a little touch of Halloween to what is considered the most romantic day of the year and included one make that i've created myself too.

These should add a spooky touch to your day this year and turn Valentine's into Valoween instead. Oh and remember... another holiday is almost out the way bringing Halloween one holiday closer.

Picture
Voodoo Doll Pin Cushions

These adorable Voodoo Dolls are so easy to make and are perfect for a beginner. You could easily customise these to whatever colours your like and while you're at it why not make a whole family of them?

Add a felt loop to the top to turn this into a hanging decoration or stitch a keyring chain into the top for a spooky little accessory for your keys. These really would make such a great gift for that special someone this Valoween.

You can find out all the details on how to make these right here.

Picture
Coffin Gift Box

Nothing says love like a coffin gift box and this one is another easy make. These little coffin boxes are great for gifts or party favours and are the perfect size to place a ring inside...

So whether you're just placing candy inside or about to let your favourite ghoul know you want to spend the rest of your life (and death) with them, you can find out all the details on how to make these (including a free template) right here.

Picture
Pom Pom Bats!

Let your favourite ghoul know that you're simply 'batty' about them with these Pom Pom Bats!

These can be made into a number of things including hanging decorations, gift tags  and even cocktail stirrers. Customise the wings into all kinds of colours and you've got yourself another perfect gift.

Check out how to make these little cuties right here.

Picture
Jack Skellington Cheesecakes

Who doesn't love cheesecake? I could eat it all day long and never get sick of it and if your favourite ghoul likes cheesecake too, then these are perfect!

These are easy to make and don't take too much time either, so you can whip up a batch before your spooky evening together.

You can find out all the ingredients and how to make these delicious treats right here.

Picture
Gothic Flower Lights

When I first came across these I had no idea they were made from egg boxes because they look fangtastic!

They're another easy and quick make and would look so great strung up around your place to help set the mood. If you've already got fairy lights in your home, you're all set to make these gothic flower lights. You could even give them as a gift if you're on a budget!

Check out all the details right here.

Picture
Planchette Chocolate Box

Obsessed is an understatement with this make because look. at. it!! It looks incredible and is actually quite easy to make if you've got the time.

The instructions do require a cricut machine but for those who don't have one fear not! As you can easily create this design with a steady hand and a craft knife. You can also customise the design however you like.

This box doesn't just have to be for chocolates either, so if you have a gift and are wondering how to wrap it, why not make this? I know if I was given this I would keep the box for as long as possible as it's far too nice to throw away.

You can get making your very own Planchette Chocolate Box right here.

Picture
Jack Skellington Valentines

You can never have enough Jack Skellington in your life and Valoween is no exception to not include the Pumpkin King!

These Jack Skellington Valentine Decorations would definitely add a spooky touch to your Valoween decorating this year or use them as gift tags for your loved ones gift. Once again they're super easy to make and the link below includes a free template for you to easily print them out (or if you have a steady hand you can draw these out yourself).

Check out all the details right over here.

Picture
Valoween Cards

One thing that seems criminally unavailable this time of year are Valoween cards (come on card companies, spooky people need cards too!) but luckily Spooky Little Halloween and That Halloween Bro recently teamed up to create these free, printable Halloween cards!

They look amazing and are the perfect little card to give to your favourite ghoul this Valoween. I know I would be over the moon to receive one of these myself.

You can grab these Valoween cards right here.

Picture
Bloody Truffles

So you've made the Planchette box but have no chocolate to put inside? Well you better get in the kitchen to make these Bloody Truffles as they would be perfect to place inside and look absolutely delicious too!

I was expecting these to be quite tricky to make as i've tried to make truffles myself in the past and failed (i'm looking at you fridge from 2018 and your non-setting truffles *weeps*) but they're fairly simple to put together!

To find out everything you need and how to make these deadlicious treats, just click right here.

Picture
Origami Heart Bats

I'm always blown away by origami creations, from a single piece of paper you can make pretty much anything and these bats are a fine example of how a piece of paper can become something amazing.

These origami heart shaped bats would make great decorations for around the home this year or use them as gift tags for your loved ones gift.

Find out how to make these right here.

Picture
Valoween Wreath

Who said Valoween decorations have to stay indoors? Decorate that door and let your neighbours know that this ghoul isn't just spooky during spooky season!

I adore this wreath and think it looks so, so good! It's a really simple make that you could actually put together with left over Halloween ribbons (does it count as left over if it's used all year?) and you could get this hanging on the door within an afternoon!

Find out all of the details on how to make this right here.

Picture
Eyeball Flowers

I have shared how to make these eyeball flowers in the past via Seven Spooky Things and now is the PERFECT time to make these!

Flowers are insanely popular this time of year and although i'm sure anyone who receives flowers will be pleased, they would be even more pleased if they were eyeball flowers. Quick and easy to make, these look fangtastic and if you click the blog link i've shared above, you'll even find a felt alternative for those of you who can't find the right flowers.

To create the perfect bunch just click right here.

Picture
Anti-Valentine Heart Cookies

I couldn't make a list of Valoween themed makes without including some kind of heart biscuit and these are incredible.

Inspired by the popular Love Hearts candy, these cookies are the perfect treat for those of us who aren't all that fond of the most romantic day of the year.

To make your own Anti-Valentines cookies just click here. The link also includes a free download for the 'Love is' labels too!

Picture
Valoween Garlands

Finally, the last make on this list is a little creation I put together myself that I hope many of you will like.

These DIY Valoween cutouts will create a Love Heart Coffin, Black Heart and Hanging Love Heart Bat garland that you can put together in no time.

You can either save the images below or download the zip file to receive all three printables right away. Simply thread a string through each of the cutouts using a needle and hang around your home this Valoween!

If you do download and make these please do share pics as I would love to see (links below).

9/28/2020

Picture
I cannot believe it's the very start of October this week! Sadly that does mean that this weeks Seven Spooky Things is the last but it's going to be a bumper fun issue!

This week will be less about making and more about having fun, decorating and getting ready for the spookiest month of the year. So if you're after ideas on how to make your home ready for Halloween then you're in luck as there are weeks and weeks of Seven Spooky Things for you to now check out.

Let's get the final Seven Spooky Things for Halloween 2020 started!

Picture
Monday

Let's start the final week with one little make. This super easy pom pom ghost garland is adorable and would look great across your walls, fireplace, doors and more this Halloween!

You can easily make one of these in an hour or two and you can check out just how to make one right here.

Picture
Tuesday

One of my favourite instagram accounts @Notebookofghosts has created an awesome reading challenge for you all this October. 31 Spooky Stories (or 13 if you would prefer) is a month long challenge to read 31 short spooky stories.

It's can easily be done and is also a fun way for you to celebrate Halloween. You could even read to others or just curl up with a nice hot drink, chunky blanket and get lost in a haunting tale 13-31 nights of the month.

You can find out even more details on how to take part via the Notebook of Ghost blog post right here.

Wednesday

It's officially the last day of September, we're now over a week into Autumn and the best month starts tomorrow. So if you haven't already, today we're going to be decorating.

Grab all of the decorations your have available and get decking the halls with all things spooky. Have you created a theme this year? Well now it's time to put it into motion and celebrate because October is finally here!

Thursday

It has finally arrived! October is BACK and today also kick starts 31 Frightful Films For 31 Nights! This list of films has been put together by myself and are a bunch of the most popular films suggested by you! A few weeks ago I asked you (via the October 31st Facebook page and group) what films you like to watch throughout October and you gave the best responses!

My question also had another motive and that was to put these films together and create a list of films we can all watch throughout October and here it is. What's more is that I will be watching five of these films with you all and throughout our watch party ill be asking you a few questions. Save your answers and email them in for your chance to win a prize.

Unfortunately these films will not be streamed due to piracy laws, but with that being said I have selected some of the most popular films to watch along with you all that hopefully you will already own or can easily access via Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney+.

The first film to kick start the month will be Hocus Pocus! We'll be watching this together at 8pm and all you will need to do is join the chat with a picture of your film ready to go. Then we'll chat online throughout the film, i'll ask a few Hocus Pocus questions, save the answers and once the film has ended you can send them in for your chance to win the prize (which will be revealed the day before the watch along night occurs).

The winner will be revealed during the next watch along night. Whats more is that everyone who emails in will also be entered into a prize draw for another mystery prize which will be revealed on Halloween!

So grab your copy of Hocus Pocus and let's get watching tonights first Frightful Film!

Friday

Almost all stores within the UK will now be stocked with loads of spooky tricks and treats so today we're going to go SHOPPING!

Grab your haunted shopping bags and let's go out to see what treats we can find. You can also check out a handy list of all stores that currently have Halloween goodies in store or online right here.

Picture
Saturday

Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Frappuccinos might be back at Starbucks (as of writing this i've already had 3) but do they have Candy Corn milkshakes? Didn't think so!

This quick and easy recipe for Candy Corn milkshakes required no Candy Corn at all but looks super cute (and tasty) you only really need vanilla ice cream and food colouring to put this together. It would make a great October beverage this month. Why not top it off with Halloween sprinkles that you should now be able to find from most supermarkets?

Check out the full how to right here.

Picture
Sunday

As it's the last day of the week and also because today marks... the last day of Seven Spooky Things for Halloween 2020, I though today would be a great time to re-post both of the free activity packs that were created during UK lockdown and also the newly released Halloween Zine from The Samsain Society.

All 3 of the files below are free to download. The activity packs are a zip file which contain all kinds of makes, puzzles, colouring pages and more! The zine is also a PDF which you should be able to download easily to your computer or phone. These are great little things to read and make throughout October and I will be releasing more packs in the future too!

To everyone who has read all of this years Seven Spooky Things posts I cannot thank you all enough for checking them out, sharing and tagging me in all of your pics to do with these posts (and the packs below). I hope you all have a wonderful October and if you make anything from the SST blog posts then please do continue to tag me as I absolutely love seeing them.

Stay safe, stay well and most of all Stay Spooky!

Now is the perfect time to start stocking up on all of that wonderful Halloween candy. A large amount of stores will be stocking all kinds of seasonal treats right now what better way to store them, than with these Candy Corn mason jars?

Todays make is quick and easy but they look great. They would make the perfect table decoration or just look great on your shelves, filled with all kinds of wonderful sweet treats.

You can read up on how to make your own Candy Corn Mason Jars right here.

Now that Autumn is well and truly here, you'll want to be decorating your home to reflect the seasonal change that is already happening outside. If like me, you like to fill your home with autumnal treats including pillows, blankets and decorative items around the place, then you'll love todays make.

This easy tutorial will show you how to make Halloween ornaments for you a seasonal indoor tree. The easiest part is the branch as all you'll need is an old tree branch that you think would be perfect to hang small, light decorations on. Grab this and remove any loose bits from the branch, then paint it any colour you desire.

You can then make your very own hanging autumnal decorations by checking out all of the steps right here.

I love a good wreath! If it's bursting with all kinds of autumnal colours and accents then I am all over it and this wreath is no exception.

When I first came across this tutorial, I actually thought this would be quite complicated to put together but to my surprise it's actually extremely easy and quick. The majority of the wreath is made from tied ribbons, with the tassle ghosts being the final, easy touch too.

If I hadn't of ordered myself a new wreath for the door this year already, I would be all over this!

The weekend is officially here and for this week we're going to take it easy. Today we're reading and tomorrow we're watching. So you can put your feet up and release with todays article. The wonderful Halloween Haiku has put together a list of Fun Alternatives to Going Out this Halloween and for some of you this article is going to be a big help.

So many of you are concerned Halloween is over this year and that it's been cancelled. Halloween can never be cancelled and just because it won't be the same as what we're used to does not mean it's gone completely. There are many ways to celebrate the best time of the year and the article above will help you to do just that!

To end the week we're watching The Village. This Village was released in 2004 and was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

The film follows a small village that is under strict rule to never leave. Just beyond the boundaries of the village are monsters that will attack and kill anyone who tries to leave. However as time goes on the villagers start to become suspicious of what exactly is keeping them there.

I personally really enjoyed this film and the twist towards the end was a nice surprise. If you have never seen The Village before then I would definitely say it's worth a watch but be warned... you'll either love it or hate it.

It's another new week which means another new week of all kinds of tricks and treats!

We're starting this week by making these quick, but fun Halloween Soap Bottles. I recently managed to get my hands on some Halloween soaps but as these only seem to be available during spooky season, these bottles are a great way to have spooky soap all year long!

When witches go riding and black cats are seen, these black cat sock decorations only take fifteen... minutes to make and they look fangtastic.

If you've got some old black socks lying around (or maybe buy a new cheap pair) then you're already on your way to making these adorable black cat sock decorations. You could even mix this up with different coloured spooky socks and have a whole gang of spooky cats!

These are quite simply... adorable! And as with most makes I come across, are also easy and quick to make.

These cute little jack-o'lantern pouches would make the perfect little treat for your trick or treaters this year. You could even use these to play a fun little hide and eek game around your home and garden or just to give out as spooky gifts. Plus you can design as many different faces as you like so everyone has a unique little cutie!

All of the steps on how to make your very own little Jack-o'lantern pouch can be found right here.

Friday night is this weeks movie night and tonight we're watching The Thing!

Released in 1982, The Thing was directed by John Carpenter and follows the story of a research team in Antarctica who are being hunted down by a shape-shifting alien that can take on the appearance of it's victims.

This one definitely is not for kids buts totally worth a watch. The film is tense, surprising and scary! I have only actually watched this film recently but after checking it out, it's made me wonder why it took me so long to watch it as it's such a great film.

Halloween is very quickly approaching and even after so many Seven Spooky Things blog posts, I still feel like i'm no where near ready.

Today we're making paper rosettes! These vintage style decorations are cheap, quick and easy! They're a load of fun to put together and really do look great. If you're not feeling the centre designs, why not find images you do like or draw up your own pictures to make a truly unique display this Halloween.

Read up on all the steps right here.

Your final make is here! This weeks last make are these awesome vintage style tassels. They're an easy make but do require a drill to put everything together, so now might be a good time to invest in a new tool!

These would look great placed all around the home or in bunches of all different colours. I'm going to be attempting to make these myself this Halloween too and will most likely keep them out all year.

You can find out how to make your very own right here.

Those of you who love Primitive Halloween decorations will love todays make. This primitive style candy corns are easy to make and mainly require wood and paints. You could possibly pick up wooden plain candy corn pieces from your local craft store currently too.

They look great and for those of you who like the look of candy corn but hate the taste, these are perfect!

Check out how to make your very own wooden Candy Corn right here.

Todays make is one I cannot wait to get started with. It requires air drying clay (which you can buy from The Works for around £4), a rolling pin and a few more things you should easily be able to find around the house, or at least similar substitutes to make these adorable little ghosts!

The tutorial has used white clay but you can easily purchase standard air-drying clay and paint it white with some acrylic paint.

How deliciously spooky does this look? This chocolate trifle is filled with all kinds of tricks and treats and will definitely be a head turner at your next Halloween party.

This trifle uses box mixes and pre-made ingredients so if your short on time you can easily whip this together in no time. Substitute Peeps for any kind of Halloween marshmallow and you're all set for one hell of a  tasty treat.

You can read all of the steps on how to make this right here.

Another bake for today and today we're making these absolutely adorable Ghost Pecan Cookies!

These only take around 45 minutes to make and require just five ingredients so you should be able to whip these up in no time at all!
Imagine giving these out to trick or treaters or leaving plate out at your next get-together! (Or just a plate for yourself, yum!).

Your final make for this week are these quick and easy yarn pumpkins. Personally I love the colours for these, they're very autumnal and look great.

You can also mix these up to create all kinds of colours. Why not make different patches for each season? That way you'll always have pumpkins throughout your home all year long.

Add a small loop to the top step for easy hanging too.

We're ending the week with this weeks film and we're watching Mars Attacks!

Mars Attacks was released in 1996 and was directed by Tim Burton. I remember when I first watched this film as a kid and it terrified me. I thought the aliens were so scary and I definitely had a nightmare or two. Having watched it recently I realised how silly they look but still absolutely love this film.

If you have never seen this film before then you're in for a treat. It's definitely one of Tim Burtons better films and a whole load of fun.
