New Treats From The Trick Or Treat Studios 2021 Catalogue!

1/21/2021

Picture
Trick or Treat Studios have released this years product catalogue and it is bursting with so many amazing new arrivals.

There are so many things that are being released this year that I personally cannot wait to get my hands on, especially the new Trick 'r Treat goodies. I have highlighted some of my favourite new collectibles for this year below and be sure to hit the link at the bottom to check out the full catalogue.

All products will be available for pre-order later this year from Trick or Treat studios.

Halloween Franchise

New arrivals for the Halloween franchise is pretty much Halloween law. You simply cannot have a new Halloween without something new related to the films and I am already obsessing over the new Halloween 3 Witchboard!!

The board features the three famous masks in three corners and a Silver Shamrock Planchette that includes a snake across the front. The vintage style design really makes this board pop... I wonder if you could summon the ghost of Conal Cochran with this...
Picture
Joining the Witchboard is a new Young Michael Mask Clown Mask, Strode Realty and Santa Mira signs and a surprise product I never expected to see.... new Halloween Soaps in three different designs! I am so curious to know what the scent of these will be.

There are also new releases for Halloween Kills due this year which include a new Mask, Coveralls and Butchers Knife. These new products have not yet been revealed but should be closer to the films release (cannot wait!).

Trick 'R Treat

I love, love, LOVE the Trick 'r Treat Purses from TOTS, although I wouldn't use one myself, they do look amazing. They're created in partnership with the wonderful Love, Pain and Stitches and it's so great to see that the line is being extended this year with two new arrivals. The famous Jack o'Lantern from the film has been transformed into two new purses. The first being a standard black and orange design with the second release being a lit Jack o'lantern variant too.
Picture
When I saw the below decorations I gasped, I gasped so loud I think I hurt my throat. TOTS are releasing another Trick 'r Treat collection of card decorations and just look at them! The school bus which includes the children on-board and Rhonda and her home are part of the new designs. There's also two Sam decorations, with one that actually reminds me of the original animated short. These are definitely a Huge, HUGE need for this year.
Picture

Chucky

If you're a fan of Chucky then you're in luck as new dolls and busts from from The Seed of Chucky are on the way which include Tiffany and Glen. There's also two new masks from The Curse of Chucky to add to your growing collections too.

New Masks!

Originally I was going to features as many masks as possible but there are SO MANY new arrivals this year that i'm just going to feature some of my favourites. New Universal Studio Monsters masks coming soon include Gillman, Werewolf of London and Man Who Laughs masks. You can also complete the gillman look with Gillman hands too!

There's also brand new Scooby Doo villain masks and a new Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark Jangly Man mask. Many more of the new masks that are not featured below are from popular films such as The Purge, Ghoulies, Haunt, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and more, so be sure to checkout the full catalogue via the link below.

Carrie and Gremlins!

One of my favourite new products to see this year is the Carrie Prom Dress Outfit. It looks amazing and it's nice to see even more official merchandise being released for such a great film. Which speaking of great films... how incredible are the new Gremlins dolls! These two new dolls will be released alongside a new Splice O' Life metal sign.

Ornaments and Giftwrap

New to Trick or Treat Studios last year was a range of new wrapping paper and it's back and this time it's returning with ten new designs. The Halloween, Krampus and Trick 'r Treat wrapping paper is a huge must and I can actually see myself using these as backing for displays as I don't think I could let anyone tear through these, they are far too nice. Joining the new wrapping paper is The Shining, The Twilight Zone, Dungeons and Dragons and Iron Maiden wrap too.
Picture
Picture
There's also a whole bunch of new hanging ornaments releasing later this year. It's great to see the original 1978 Michael Myers joining the line up along with the Halloween 3 masks. Throw in the new metal decorations for Trick 'r Treat and Krampus and your tree for this year is pretty much all set!
Picture
Be sure to check out the full catalogue right HERE and for even more spooky treats head on over to the Trick or Treat Studios store.

Watch Films, Win Prizes This October With 31 Frightful Films For 31 Nights!

9/18/2020

Picture
October is very nearly here and as a lot of us will be celebrating at home this year, why not celebrate together online?

A few weeks ago I asked on Facebook via the October 31st page and group what your go-to Halloween films are to watch throughout October and i've taken those films to create 31 Frightful Films For 31 Nights!

Throughout October you'll have a new suggested film to watch each night with five of those films having the option to watch along together. A live chat will be created for all of those to join in and throughout the film i'll be asking a small number of questions for you to answer.

At the end of the film you can send in your answers to all questions asked during the film and then the winner will be announced during the next Watch Along night! Each question will appear for only ten minutes and then will be removed so you've got to be watching along for your chance to win otherwise you'll miss it. During the film we can also chat, play some extra little games and just have a fun spooky time online together.

The most popular films that were suggested do appear more than once and we'll be kick starting October by watching the most popular suggested film on the list Hocus Pocus. I have also tried to select films that everyone should hopefully be able to access easily whether that be through Amazon Prime, Disney+, Netflix or maybe you just own them on dvd/blu ray already. Unfortunately these films will not be streamed live due to piracy laws.

Check out the full list of 31 Frightful Films below and also the five Watch Along films we'll be watching together too! Prizes for each night will be revealed the day before we watch each film together and prizes will all be sent at the end of the month.

Five Ways To Celebrate Halloween At Home

7/9/2020

Picture
I think  we can all agree that 2020 hasn't exactly been the greatest year on record and with Halloween creeping closer and closer I have seen quite a few people stating that they won't be celebrating Halloween this year.

Although October 31st might be a little different in 2020, it does not mean that Halloween is cancelled, as there are plenty of fun things for you to do right in your very home. The ideas below will help you create a spooky night with your partner, family, housemates and just about anyone who you live with without leaving the house or inviting other people over.

So you can put those Covid-19 worries away and still celebrate the best night of the year.

Picture
Movie Night

A Movie Night is one of the best ways to spend Halloween night and there are so many ways you could easily make it as spooky as possible. The easy part is definitely picking what films to watch or even what shows to binge. Fortunately in this day and age we don't have to head to our local rental store to get the latest releases (Blockbuster we miss you!), instead you can find a heaps of spooky films and tv shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime and more.

Why not theme your night? You could decorate for a particular theme depending on what kinds of films you would like to watch. Create spooky foods like this Bewitched Popcorn or even stir up Halloween cocktails and make your own cinema tickets? Set your show times so the whole family knows when the film is about to start and turn your living room into a real spooky cinema experience.

If you're after some ideas then you can check out my list of Witchy and Horror films or Tv Shows to check out too.

Picture
Scary Story Night

If like me you made forts as a child, then you'll love this one. Instead of movies why not spend the night telling scary stories? You could gather together around a table of snacks with eerie music playing while each person reads a different story or why not take it one step further and build your own fort.

Grab some old sheets, peg them altogether over chairs and tables and create a spooky hidden hideaway. You could even throw lots of fake leaves around the floor to add an outdoor effect and why not make your own glowing camp fire to really bring it all together. Hot Chocolates and foods like toffee apples, bonfire toffee and S'mores Cupcakes are the perfect sweet treats for tonights tales. You don't have to stay indoors either, if you can head into your garden and set up a tent, why spent the night outside instead? Add a few glowing Jack-O'Lanterns to your set up and you're ready for one spooky night.

If you're after books bursting with scary stories then I highly recommend The Mammoth Book of Halloween Stories and 31 Nights of Halloween.

Picture
Games Night

Everyone loves a good games night and Halloween is the perfect time to have the spookiest games night of the year. I previous released a list of  board games that are extremely fun to play and also have a spooky theme that would be perfect for All Hallows Eve. I personally highly recommend Smashing Pumpkins as it's a quick game (similar to snap), that has cute Halloween themed cards and is suitable for all ages.

Games Night doesn't have to just be about board games though, there are plenty of games you can easily play around the house that are fun for everyone. You could set up a fun treasure hunt game with various riddles and prizes hidden around your home. This can be done so cheaply too by purchasing small prizes from stores such as Poundland and Home Bargains. Write out the clues for your players to follow and see if they can track down all of the hidden Halloween treats. It's easy to make your own games too like Pumpkin Ring Toss or Ghost Bowling, check out both of those games and another 28 ideas right here.

Set up a table of snacks, fun prizes for winners of different games and have a really fun Halloween night.

Picture
Victorian Night

Did you know Halloween was hugely popular throughout the Victorian era? People would attend various parties and play all kinds of different games. The majority of these games would be fun fortune style games to predict what the year has in store or who your next love would be.

For Halloween this year consider bringing back some of old traditions and have a Victorian Era Night and make it a fun event at home. Dress in your best clothing, a suit or fancy dress, whip up a delicious Victorian Chocolate Tart, Trifle and finger foods like sandwiches and scones. Light candles or place battery tealights all around the room and turn off the lights to set a spooky atmosphere.

Apples were used for bobbing with the first person to successfully grab an apple with their teeth becoming the first to marry. The quality of the apple would also be a symbol of the person they would be with. Apple skins were also used to find out the first letter of a future lovers name. The peel would be thrown over your shoulder and the shape it made on the group corresponding with the letter of their first name. There are so many different games that were played on Halloween night and you can read up on even more fun games right here and also here.

Picture
Craft Day/Night

The final idea on this list is one that has endless ideas and outcomes on what can be done for Halloween night. You can easily spend all day making different decorations that are around a specific theme. Create spooky gifts for the next big holiday (which shall not be named *shivers*), start creating decorations for Halloween 2021 as it is never too early to prepare for next year. Why not hold your very own pumpkin carving/designing day or just have fun all day making whatever your mind can come up with and then decorate for the night.

You don't just have to carve a pumpkin for Halloween, there are so many different ways to decorate your very own Jack-O'Lantern with many ways actually prolonging it's life (did you know a pumpkin can last for up to a year if left in a dry, dark space?). Why not paint one in different colours? turn them into your favourite film/tv characters, cover in glitter? the ideas are never ending and if you're stuck... pinterest is your best friend.

You can find check out over 100  pumpkin decorating ideas right here and for a few easy crafty makes head over here.

Seven Spooky Things To Do This Week! June 29th - July 5th

6/29/2020

Picture
Missing Halloween and the month of October? Me too! So from now until Halloween, each week they'll be a new 'Seven Spooky Things' post to ensure you can add a bit of Halloween to your day 365 days a year.

These Seven Spooky Things should keep you well spooked from June 29th to July 5th.

Check out all of this weeks daily tasks below:

Picture
Monday

We're starting this week with a big make, it's big but cheap and looks amazing! These milk carton witches are made using tomato cages (which you can currently pick up for cheap from most stores stocking gardening products), paints, wire, pens and a few other things you might have around the house already.

You can make these easily in a day. Why not make more than one and create your own little coven of witches?
Find out everything you need to make this right here.

Picture
Tuesday

Your next make for this week are these easy Halloween Mickey Mouse ears!

As Disneyland begins to reopen you might be wanting to visit the park and these would be perfect. If you're more into staying at home then why not have a fun little Disney party with these too? Put on Halloween Town or Hocus Pocus and get making!

Find out all the details on how to make these right here.

Picture
Wednesday

We've hit the middle of the week and so today instead of making or watching something we're going to be doing a little light reading.

I recently came across this short article that features 11 of the UK's most haunted places. It's a quick but fun read and actually might encourage you to research these a little more to find out even more of the spooky happenings going on at each of these sites.

Check out The Top 11 Most Haunted Places to Visit In Britain via Kayak.

Picture
Thursday

We're back to making again today and this make might take you a few days to complete (clay needs to dry) but the final product really does look so awesome!

These skull and skeleton hand bottles only require bottles, clay, sculpting tools (or make do with what you have at hand if it works) and glue. Similar bottles like this are almost always available during the spookiest month of the year, so why not make them yourself this year instead? You could even change up the bone colours and shapes of the skulls.

Check out all of the details on how to make these right here.

Picture
Friday

This week Friday is movie night and this weeks film is the latest instalment in the Halloween franchise, 2018's Halloween.

If you haven't seen this film yet (where have you been?) then you're in for a treat. I know a small amount of people didn't like the sequels and remakes  of the original film so you'll be pleased to know that this film actually retcons every film made past the first one and places itself as a direct sequel to the 1978 release.

Forty years have passed since the massacre in Haddonsfield and Laurie Stroke has been preparing for Michaels return ever since. When the bus transporting him to a different prison crashes he makes his escape and returns to Haddonsfield once more on Halloween night.

Personally I think this film definitely breathed new life into the franchise and being a huge fan, I was extremely pleased with the film. There are small nods to other films throughout (the kids wearing the Silver Shamrock masks was my favourite Easter Egg) and some scenes that directly mirror the original.

If you haven't seen this film yet then you must check it out and get yourself ready for this years Halloween Kills.

Picture
Saturday

I have shared how to make your very own DIY Witch Broom in the past but the previous tutorial showed you how to make a full size broom, so today we're making smaller witches brooms and in two ways!

The tutorial shows you how to make a broom from twigs or grass and also has even more instructions on how to make different wreaths to go with it too.

Check out how to make todays super easy make right here.

Picture
Sunday

Your final project today is the easiest and quickest out of all of this weeks makes.

These free printables will transform any old books or even book storage boxes into magical spell books. There are even labels to make your very own Dead Sea Salt jars and they're all free to download and print too.

So you can get planning your Halloween party theme for this year or adding a little touch of magic to your home for free! Download and print these right here.

Who to Follow
As a bonus extra each week i'll feature an instagrammer who has a spooky profile that you might like. This way you can add even more spookiness to your instagram feed each week too.

This weeks featured instagrammer is: @hollyjollyjackolantern
Check out her awesome instagram for guaranteed Halloween treats all week!

If you would like to be featured just follow the October 31st Instagram or my own (link below) and make some noise!

10 Spooky Things To Still Look Forward To In 2020

5/28/2020

Picture
I think we can all agree that so far 2020 hasn't exactly been the best year so far... but that doesn't mean we should just push it under the carpet and wait for 2021 to hurry up and save the day.

Although nothing this year is guaranteed, hopefully the ten things below will be enough to at least give you something to look forward to this year and still bring a little piece of Halloween to your day. Please also do let me know what you're most looking forward to this year too in the comments below!

Picture
New Funko Pops
Funko has revealed so many new Funko Pops recently for their Funkoween in May event.

This year will see the introduction of new Zombieland, Corpse Bride, The Craft and Marvel Zombie Pops. In fact there are so many new Horror/Halloween themed Funko Pops being released that I felt it was only necessary they had their own blog post, which you can check out right here.

Personally I am excited for the new Hocus Pocus funko pops (There are more characters than the Sanderson Sisters though Funko!) and also the new Corpse Bride pops too.

Picture
Shopping

Although a fairly easy one on the list, it definitely is something to look forward to. I know quite a few of you are worried that ranges might be affected this year due to the closure of so many stores from the Pandemic. At one point I saw rumours that some stores wouldn't be getting any Halloween stuff at all and honestly I could not find any fact behind any of these claims.

Whether you're going into a store or shopping online, there will be many new releases from all kinds of stores this year and it's definitely one thing to look forward to. I can't wait to see what Homesense and TK Maxx release this year as those are my two favourite UK stores and also have the best range of Halloween goodies each year.

Picture
American Horror Story

Although production might be a little delayed and also the theme changed due to the time of year being one of the key features of the new season, we will still get another American Horror story!

This years theme has already been teased but still we all have no idea what it is. Ryan Murphy even revealed a new spin off series called American Horror Stories is also in the works. The new show will focus on individual stories per episode instead of one long storyline per season.

Hocus Pocus Board Game

To say I am excited for this one is an understatement. Due for release this summer, Hocus Pocus the board game is being released by Ravensburger. The goal of the game is to defeat the Sanderson Sisters before sunrise, fail and they will live forever. This family friendly game also comes in a book style box and includes spells and quotes from the film. No official release date has been revealed yet but we do know that it's definitely coming this year.
Picture
Picture
Halloween Kills

The next installment in the Halloween franchise and also new trilogy, Halloween Kills is still due for release this October.

A very short behind the scenes video was revealed by Jamie Lee Curtis last Halloween and it reveals very quick scenes from the upcoming sequel. The story will continue directly where the 2018 release left off and will also continue into the final part of the trilogy Halloween Ends which is due to be released in 2021.

Jason Blum also revealed recently on twitter that the trailer is on the way. Fingers crossed we get a reveal of what's in store very soon.

You can check out the video teaser below.

Picture
Halloween Countdown Calendar

Although this does fall under Funko Releases I felt like this needed it's own place on this list as who doesn't love a countdown calendar?

Christmas can move aside as a new Halloween Countdown Calendar is about to hit the shelves and this one includes 13 mini Funko Pop figures from some of your favourite movies. Included in the calendar are Pops from Beetlejuice, The Nun, IT, Friday the 13th and The Shining.

Due for release in August, this will give you plenty of time to grab one in time for the spookiest month of the year.

Picture
Bethany Lowe Designs

A new year means so many new Bethany Lowe Designs products! If you're a collector or just love the odd piece, this years range of new arrivals will have something for everyone. I put a list of some of my favourite releases for this year, which you can check out right here.

So we can all look forward to new vintage style creations, brand new Johanna Parker arrivals and more. Speaking of Johanna Parker you can grab so many other treats from Johanna's Partners in Craft collections. A small group of independent artists and stores have worked with Johanna to release unique pieces.

Picture
Halloween

This year the spookiest day of the year it's at it's spookiest. Not only does it fall on a Saturday but there will also be a full moon!

What's more is that if you're in the USA the clocks actually go back an hour in the early hours of November 1st (UK is Oct 25th) so for those partying on Halloween night, you'll have an extra hour of spooky fun.
So get planning as whether we're in lockdown or not you will not want to miss out on this Halloween.

New Lego Haunted House

Lego have unveiled a brand new Haunted House set that is actually already available to VIP members but will have a general release on June 1st for everyone else.

The set contains 3231 pieces and includes 8 characters too. Aimed at adults (18+ age on the box) this set will allow you to build a Haunted House ride with actual motorised free fall lift! The motor is sold separately but honestly with how cool this is, you'll need it!

"Welcome to Manor von Barron, a spooky Haunted House theme-park ride packed with chills and thrills for all who dare to enter. Once home to one of the world’s greatest villains who travelled the globe in search of treasures to steal, this Haunted House is a nostalgic throwback to classic LEGO® adventure sets, so be sure to look for rare bricks and ancient artifacts hidden throughout this spooky set!"

The set is priced at £209.99 here in the UK.

The Haunting Of Bly Manor

If you enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House then you should be excited for the second season of the anthology series from Netflix. Bly Manor began production in September 2019 and luckily wrapped in February of this year making all filming (unless reshoots and additional scenes are required) completed. Which also means that it's on track to still be released this year.

The Second season will be based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James and will include at least four of the original cast members returning as brand new characters. It has already been stated its a new story so there will be no link to the original.

There is no official release date yet but my guess is we'll be seeing it around the spookiest month of the year!

If you checked out last weeks Seven Spooky Things then you will have seen how you can make little pumpkins out of pebbles for a super cute decorating idea.

Well this week the pebbles are back but for a game this time. All you need are pebbles, pens/paints and some tape (or just drawing the lines will do). to make your very own Tic Tac Toe game.

Fine out more right here.

Thursday is a baking day and it's super easy to make. You might have even made one before, so for today we're making Apple Pie! But this one has a spooky twist!

I actually made an apple pie for the first time on the weekend and really enjoyed it, I was also surprised how easy and quick it was to make and hopefully you'll enjoy this one too.

To make your own spooky pie just click right here.

It's movie night! And this weeks movie is Donnie Darko. The film was released in 2001 and on it's original release didn't do well at the box office. It only made $7,500,000 on a $4,000,000 budget but after it went to Dvd the film started to gather success and even developed a cult following. Donnie Darko is dark, a little confusing at times (but it all makes sense in the end) but overall a brilliantly creepy film. A sequel was also released in 2009. The film stars Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaul, Drew Barrymore and Patrick Swayze!

A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a man in a large rabbit suit who manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after he narrowly escapes a bizarre accident.

Todays make is really easy to do and you can make it with pretty much anything around your house. It comes from the wonderful guys over at Your Best Halloween Ever!

All you need are buttons and something that is a shape (official instructions! :) once you have those things get glueing everything together to make something that would look great on your wall. I love the star that has been made and how it has autumnal vibes! If you make something yourself please do tag Your Best Halloween Ever! on Instagram and be sure to check our their website too.

Film night is tonight! And tonights film is one of Tim Burton's best films... Corpse Bride. If you've already seen it then it's time to watch it again and if you haven't why not?!?!

When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the inadvertent presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her.

Corpse Bride is a brilliant and fun (also sad) film that you'll really enjoy. It also has some fun little songs throughout that you can sing along to, even after the film has finished.

Bored of the same old sandwiches? Currently limited with what you can have to eat due to all the crazy people buying up all the food in a panic? Well fear not! As today there are ten different ways to make Halloween themed sandwiches. All you need is bread and whatever you want to put inside them.

This is a little bit of fun you can do with the kids, or just by yourself to spook up lunch time. Either way you'll have a nice spooky sandwich today! Make your own right here.

If you love ghosts, you'll love this make! They're super easy too and you'll most likely have everything you need for this make right at home. This Easy Bobble Ghost Halloween Craft make is extremely cute and fun, the ghosts actually spring off the page with these bobbly eyes, which if you give them a shake will roll all over the place.

This is another make you might be able to easily make around the home and if not you can grab everything you need for cheap.

Another make for today and this time it's these Faux Taxidermy Insects. All you need is wood plaques, fake insects and gold and black paints. You could actually do this with many other fake animals or just odd little things that would look great against a black plaque. Either way these look great and will be fun to make. Find out more right here.

So this week there's two movie nights. If you've watched Corpse Bride and managed to complete all of this weeks makes then it's time to sit down, relax (again) and grab the popcorn as tonight you're watching Halloween Night.
Halloween Night is a recently released fan film (which raised a whopping $10,000 on indiegogo to fund!) that focuses on the grandson of Dr Loomis and his wife who have to deal with the return of Michael Myers!

It’s Halloween in Haddonfield, Illinois. The infamous Halloween Night of 1978 is all but a memory for the people of Haddonfield as the new generation of townspeople look to put the town’s marred legacy behind them. But Death has come BACK to their little town…

You can check out the awesome fan film below and let me know what you think in the comments.
