Little Nightmares is terrifyingly good!

The long awaited 'Little Nightmares' was finally released on PS4 and Xbox One yesterday (April 28th) and the wait ever since it's announcement was totally worth it.

If you have no idea what Little Nightmares is well you're in luck as I'm here to give you the full details and why it should be your next game purchase.

LN follows the story of Six, a nine year old girl trapped in The Maw, a horrible and unsettling place. Equipped with only a lighter, you must try and sneak around, steal, run from and just overall get away from every other creature you come across as best as you can.

There are a small number of enemies in this game but trust me they're all terrifying in their own way. The first being the long armed, short legged, blind Janitor whose skin appears to have fallen off his face. Although at times it appears to be more of a skin suit than his own skin. He will reach under and over things in search of Six and when he runs he runs fast.

The next are the cooks. Obese creatures that work the kitchens. Occasionally you'll see them scratch underneath the skin on their faces, once again giving the impression that it really is a skin suit. These are a little slower than the Janitor but still as terrifying. Their scream is creepy as hell.

It appears that the lady who runs this establishment is none other than a Geisha. A Geisha who sings an eerie song to herself, can't look in mirrors and has some kind of dark magic. If you're caught by her don't expect to last very long at all.

Other enemies include the guests who are huge fat disguting creatures who dive off stools and tables to try and get at you. It seems Six is a must desired menu choice. Then you have the leaches, these things although slow, will wrap around and kill you fairly quickly so it's best to avoid them at all costs.

There are a number of different locations throughout the game that Six ventures through, bedrooms/prison cells with bloody hand prints on the walls, pipes and under floorboards, the kitchen, a library, hallways, tunnels and more. There are plenty of places for you to run, hide and climb.

The overall difficulty of the game is fairly average. A few times I was genuinely stumped as to where I should go or what I should do next but it didn't take all that long to figure out my next move.

Quite often throughout the game you will run into the odd Gnome. These little characters tend to jump out of crates and tunnels and usually scuttle away before you have time to interact with them. You can give them a hug which is rather cute but thats about it.

The whole game has a dark and sinister feel to it. This is evident when you're greeted by what appears to be a man who has committed suicide almost at the beginning of the game. Rooms are filled with cages, dolls, blood stains and scratch marks.  You'll also see caged children, wrapped up bodies and more.

Little Nightmares is fairly short, with around 3-4 hours of gameplay but trust me when I say it's 3-4 hours of continuous, none stop, nail biting gameplay that you will love. I'm already hoping for a sequel.

This game is definitely worth adding to your collection and the 'Six Edition' is something every gamer should add to theirs. A box set that contains a Six figure, soundtrack, stickers, comic, poster and game all packeged in caged design box. You can grab yours right HERE.

It's definitely one for horror fans and i'm happy to give it an 8/10 score. When playing it though.... don't assume Six is as innocent as she seems...
