Code Orange! Halloween Has Begun At TK Maxx and Homesense

The most wonderful time of the year has begun and this year it's arrived earlier than usual!

Last year I came across my first spooky find in Homesense on the 12th of June, this year it was the 17th of May, almost an entire month earlier than last year!

Already stores seems to be getting regular deliveries of new Halloween stock, with blankets and cushions being the main focus right now, however towels, candles and even some ornaments have been spotted by Halloween hunters too!

As you can see from the picturess, ghosts are BACK and there's already plenty of new ghostie goodies available. Bright colours and last years popular pink theme has also made a return.

One product that many people went crazy for last year, is the large skeleton (priced at £49.99) that has also made it's return in store and also online too.

Currently a lot of the stock we're seeing is repeats from last year and this is always the case with Homesense and TK Maxx. The most popular products will almost always return and as we're also seeing lots of newness too, there's already plenty of new spooky treats to get excited about.

I've even heard rumblings that Summerween is going to be a big theme this year and we can expect to see lot's more of this theme from June.

Halloween 2020 at TK Maxx and Homesense!

Halloween has started to arrive in the UK and I am fully taking it with both arms and giving it the biggest hug ever. This year has not been the best year for anyone and so seeing some level of normality in our spooky little lives is a welcome breath of fresh air.

The first signs of Halloween in Homesense and TK Maxx started around the 24th of July and since then stores have been filling their shelves with spooky product after spooky product.

To begin with my local Homesense store was severely lacking in Halloween products and so I have been fortunate enough to have friends and family who are willing to check stores closer to them to find my Halloween fix and so far I think I have been able to cross everything off my list that I have wanted so far this year. My most recent visit though, I was so surprised to see the shelves full of new arrivals!

The first wave of products to arrive in most stores were Halloween Gnomes, metal decorations and mugs. This has now become full ranges that many of us Halloween folk are going crazy for.

It definitely looks like skulls are a big thing once again this year. Skulls appear to be a staple each year at Homesense and TK Maxx and although I am not a huge fans of skull products, some of this years releases are fun to look at. There are a lot of Ghosts and Pumpkins this year too. I do love a good ghost so I am loving so many of the ghosties and have swiped up quite a few of them already. Primitive style pumpkins are also adorning the shelves this year and I have big plans with them for this years Halloween home display.

Snow globes, light up decorations, hanging signs, candle holders (and candles), plush toys and much, much more are all quickly trickling into stores. There are quite a few returning items including the witch hats with 3 stacked pumpkins on the side, witch boot candle holders and more. Some have returned in the same style as previous years and others have had a complete makeover.

Although there has only been 3 kitchen products that I have grabbed so far, it does appear that they have invested a lot more into homewares too. Chopping Boards, Mugs, Spatulas, Cookie Cutters, Jar, Salt and Pepper Pots are more are all available. The three products I grabbed myself are a white pumpkin ceramic jar, ghost salt and pepper pots and a small pumpkin jar. If we're graced with Rae Dunn Halloween goodies (like in previous years) then I will be sure to on the hunt for those too, but so far there hasn't been any sightings.

The pumpkin with three ghosts (above) was one of my must have finds for this year and after a very hot journey to a store a little outside of my local area, I managed to find them. I was also fortunate to get my hands on one of this years BIG wants on many peoples list... the Light Up Haunted House pumpkin. Searching every store I possibly could get to, I was on a mission to find this and it was actually my partner who found it! The Pumpkin is hollowed out with a jagged opening, inside sits a small black tree, gravestone and highly detailed haunted house. If you flip the switch on the base the small LED lights light the whole scene up. This is definitely at the top of my list for favourite new additions.

The flying witch was also a very recent purchase but the moment I saw a picture of her online I knew I had to grab her. She's flying across the sky on her metal broom with black cat familiar in front. I absolutely adore her and have plans to potentially paint her cape from red to orange.... but i'm not 100% sure as she looks great as she is.

Pillows and fleece blankets have made a return this year too. The majority of pillows so far are returning designs from previous years. These pillows include witchy puns or skeletons/coffins. If pillows are not your thing but you're down for wrapping yourself up in a nice fleecy throw blanket then the Halloween Cat or Dog blankets are for you. These blankets have cat or dogs dressed in various Halloween costumes. They're super soft and only £9.99 too! Personally not my thing but if we get ghost blankets any time soon, then count me in!

One of the earliest finds was the below Trick or Treat sign. This little sign was only £3.99 and I knew as soon as I saw it I was going to repaint it a little. I used orange acrylic to highlight the text against the spiderweb a little better and then placed it as a backing piece for my very filled shelves. I also used the same paint to re-paint the little Boo ghostie. Originally he was all grey (almost concrete looking) and so I decided to change his head and add a little colour.

I'm sure it won't be the last thing I tweak a little this year but overall I am really enjoying the releases that Homesense and TK Maxx are constantly adding too. I do have a few more items on my list of things I would love to own so will be hunting those down next.

TK Maxx and Homesense UK Halloween previews

It's that time of year again! That wondering exciting time of year where stores begin to stock Halloween homeware and decorations and Homesense never dissapoint!

Last year Homesense had a huge range of amazing products with TK Maxx dragging behind as many customers reported finding almost no items in store but Homesense was a plethora of Halloween goodness!

Below is a preview of just some of the hundreds of Halloween items you'll be able to find at both TK Maxx and Homesense this year. With both stores already beginning to stock Autumn wreaths, ornaments, artificial plants and candles (Pumpkin scented ones!) it won't be long until the odd skeleton and ghost begins to pop up too.

Ive already got my eye on that Frankenstein candy dish and skeleton bird ornamant! Click on the images below to see a closer version.
